Check this out: this guy here is Netanyahus grandpa https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Mileikowsky

He is credited with helping start the far right revisionist Zionism movement, which preaches expansionism and use of force https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revisionist_Zionism

Further into that article you will read the Netanyahus grandpa was directly involved in the assassination of this guy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haim_Arlosoroff

Arlosoroff was a very popular socialist Zionist leader who preached pacifism and coexistence with the Arab population.

Netanyahus family and his ilk not only altered the original purpose of Zionism, hence the name “revisionist Zionism”, but permanently changed Israel’s history and led them down a path of violence.

I have literally no idea how Jewish communities sharing specific DNA linking them to the levant has anything to do with white supremacy, or how that makes me a white supremacist. Zionism started after the Jewish Diaspora in 8th century BCE. Are all scientists that study genetics racist? Where are you getting this from and why are you so angry about it?

Uh no, Zionism is not a Christian idea. It’s been an idea long before Christianity was even around. I’m flabbergasted that you called me a white supremacist for stating a fact. Ethiopian and Ashkenazi Jews could very well share DNA linking them back to the original Jewish diaspora.

https://geneticliteracyproject.org/2017/03/21/beta-israel-reconsidered-defending-israelite-ancestry-ethiopian-jews/

“As the BBC reports, the study suggests that “Ethiopians mixed with Egyptian, Israeli or Syrian populations about 3,000 years ago.” Professor Chris Tyler-Smith, from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, told the BBC: “By analyzing the genetics of Ethiopia and several other regions we can see that there was gene flow into Ethiopia, probably from the Levant, around 3,000 years ago, and this fits perfectly with the story of the Queen of Sheba.” Note that the study does not contradict the 2007 work by Entine or other historical evidence. The results suggest that Israelites-Jews entered the region 3,000 years ago, but they were not necessarily consolidated as a group until about 1,500 years ago. Also, note the study does not necessarily confirm the biblical story of affair between Queen Sheba of ancient Ethiopia and king Solomon of ancient Israel.”

Here’s another

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3543766/

“By principal component analysis, it was observed that the Jewish populations of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East formed a tight cluster that distinguished them from their non-Jewish neighbors (Fig. 1). Within this central cluster, each of these Jewish populations formed its own subcluster, in addition to the more remote localization of members of some Diaspora communities. The observation of a major central tight cluster was supported by statistical metrics for genetic distances (Fst, allelic sharing distances).”

With all this said, even if Ethiopian Jews and Ashkenazi Jews are not actually genetically related, they still get targeted the same whether they practice Judaism or not.

I reject modern political labels but would say I lean slightly right. Over the years I’ve wrote to many of our politicians but Mr. Durbin is the only one who actually gave me the time of day, and for that he has my respect.

Been doing a deep dive on this conflict for the past few weeks and I don’t think you’ll find many unbiased summaries. A lot of people have said good things about this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11961982-side-by-side

Tells the Palestinian narrative on the left hand side, and the Israeli narrative on the right hand side.

Everytime I’ve asked this to someone that’s taken a hardline stance I’m met with either “it’s a complex issue” or just completely ignoring the question 😂

Above commenter asked where the fight with Hamas is taking place.

Toldry, I have spent the past week doing serious research into the Israel/Palestine conflict. I have looked at pro Palestine arguments as well as pro Israel arguments along with third party sources and cross referenced timelines of events and quotes from key players from the 1800s til now. I can safely say both sides are terrible and there’s a lot more than meets the eye going on right now. Thank you for providing nuance and level headedness in a time when people are increasingly feeling pressured to pick a side. Remember people, you can condemn both hamas and Israel. Both have done dirty things to each other from the beginning and both have engaged in deception so often that I feel there is truly no good guy in this situation.

It is so easy to say this when you’re not the one dealing with it. Per the article it seems they had stayed at a shelter for 2 months and were told to leave for another shelter and that transportation would be planned out for them. We allowed them in and are providing them transportation. This is all being paid for by tax payer money. The world is not black and white and money doesn’t just appear out of thin air. This is a complex issue. At the end of the day they wanted to escape a bad area and we let them in. If this upsets you that much, why not offer to house a migrant family?
