I prefer this over "when school children are present".

Like I still don't know what that means. Is it during pickup/dropoff? Is it all day on school days? Is it only if I see a kid? Do they have school on certain holidays?

I guess I'd prefer a 'when flashing' light instead.

Imgur album support? (sh.itjust.works)

Is there a way to make the app better handle imgur album links? Consider this post: https://sh.itjust.works/post/50639643 the link is to an imgur album, but the app only seems to let me see the first of the album and not scroll through other images in the album.

Thanks for considerations.

I have this PETG; its Kingroon Blue PETG. I can't get it to print nicely no matter what I do. Been testing with benchy over and over.

The filament is as dry as I can make it. It's been in the dryer for at least 12 hours before each print. I even have tried snipping the part of the filament not in the dryer to start from a dried state. The Relative Humidity doesn't drop anymore at this point (from 19ish).

I've tried different temperatures from 220 to 260. I've tried different retraction lengths and speeds. I've tried with the cooling fan on/off and at a couple middling percentages. Also different speeds from 30mm/s to 45 to 60.

I tried printing a retraction tower and it fell apart after the first level.

The first layer prints more/less fine, then eventually it either just falls apart (most of the time) or produces something in awful quality.

I've attached images of everything I can think of from the way it looks on the first layer, to the case where its a benchy out of a horror film, to when it just fails miserably.

Printer Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus. .4mm nozzle (i've tried both copper and hardened steel). Besides the nozzle its stock. If I swap to PLA it prints generally fine.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious. Everyone says dry the filament, but I can't dry it anymore 😢 .

Thanks folks (and if you celebrate: Happy Turkey Day!)

This is in the native phone app. I'm in the US. Definitely didn't have this feature before. It announces when you start recording.

I know it's been a thing with some other phones and in other countries, but hey it's cool to have it on my Pixel 8.

Hey folks,

I was printing a frame with a fresh unopened roll of PETG. I haven't seen this type of thing before. I'm guessing it's because I tried a new (to me) cura setting to move the seam to the corner.

Besides this area, everything came out great.

Any tips on how to get PETG and corner seams to not do this? (Or is the issue unrelated?)

Every day at about 5pm he puts out holiday decorations (right now Halloween, but same idea for Christmas later in the year), then at about 9:30pm (~4.5 hours later) he brings them in the garage.

Every.. single.. day. Same schedule.

We're talking multiple lawn inflatables, led lights, and other misc decorations.

I've never seen anyone else do this before (especially every day).

Is this a normal thing for others?

Sidebar questions (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) by csm10495@sh.itjust.works to c/summit@lemmy.world

Is there a way to always show the instance name after you swipe into the sidebar? I think now it doesn't always show the @instance.com part.

I guess one other sidebar thing: if I'm in the a community scrolling then I swipe to get the bar, it doesn't seem to come out. Is there a setting to make it so I can swipe to go back then swipe to get the sidebar?

Thanks folks!

.. why is this PSU so cheap? It's on at least one tier list as being A+ rated. It's 80+ Platinum. No idea if it has the latest connector for Nvidia, but I don't really personally need or care about that.

Sold and shipped by walmart.com, so should be a legit seller. Has a 10 year warranty. Returnable in store. What am I missing? lol

(I acknowledge there are some bad reviews.. but still sold and shipped by walmart. Maybe a bad batch?.. but come on that price still)

Why is this so cheap?

Some posts don't load (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by csm10495@sh.itjust.works to c/syncforlemmy@lemmy.world

At first I thought it was a federation issue of some sort but then realized voyager was working fine.

I can't load: https://sh.itjust.works/post/31973594 via Sync. No idea why.

Sync is my favorite Lemmy app, but come on can we at least get some bug fixes once in a while?

This video was a lot of fun to watch. It's a simple enough concept that kept me entertained throughout.

Corporate executives love using the word pause to allow the possibility for a resume. It also makes it not a failure since it never finishes negatively: it is paused.

It's word gymnastics.

I know this may come off as a surprise: but I imagine that requiring JS in 2024 isn't a big deal to most people.

Now of course Lemmy skews more into that small crowd.

I don't blame any website for requiring JS for full functionality in 2024.

Probably bureaucracy. Also an inability to pivot even when things make no sense. Everything is a giant freight train that has very little ability to change direction or stop.

Oh and of course a healthy taste of not being transparent or honest.

Source: I used to work there years ago.

It's a bit odd, but isn't it equivalent to forking and putting up a fork elsewhere?

I guess I don't see the problem.

So instead of spending X dollars to ensure people have homes, we spend X++ dollars to evict them from their spaces?

Public road = need car registered.. and everything else.

If they just wanted to drive in circles on their private property, who cares.

Maybe if the license plate had been at a 45 degree angle.

Funny how no one claims states rights here.

That only seems to be a Republican talking point.

If you are for Musk being tracked, you should be fine with her being tracked the same way.

I'm for anyone in a private jet being tracked.

He has no power to do anything really. I'm starting to think more socialism makes sense. I kind of want profit limits on certain essential sectors like food, medicine, probably others.

I'm tired of hearing about how company X made 3 billion more this quarter than last year. It's one thing to be profitable and make something, it's another to give it all to the execs and make consumers eat more year after year.

Raising prices to raise profits when you're still profitable is ridiculous and greedy.

I don't see how Biden could fix the situation on his own. It needs a massive change.

I wonder if anyone thinks robots.txt is binding or not ignored by anyone who wants.
