They seem pretty cool!

Unfortunately I can't eat them, since the one thing they can't seem to certify on is gluten... May be pretty good gifts though.

I'm on the east coast myself, in my 40s, also tech (mostly hardware/design, but some software in support of that hw or just doing something experimental).

I will 100% show up with a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. If I have a meeting or its the fall/spring, I have a sportjacket, but I've admittedly shown up in a zip up hoodie before (though that was specifically in a space I was doing some concepting in, not a boardroom).

Client meetings with their c-suite will get a collar, but its a golf shirt in the summer.

That said, I work from home pretty much exclusively, so its all t-shirts now. I wouldn't even worry about straight up Donald Duck'ing it if it were more comfortable (its not).

I think its just generational.

This is why next to my couches are multi-port chargers.

The ones I'm using currently have 8 ports; 2 at 65W, 3 at 30W, and 3 at 20W. The 30 & 60 are USB-C, 20W is USB A. The 65W is plenty for laptops, tablets, and phones. 30W for tablets and phones if the 65W is in use or headphones, eBook reader, etc. 20W for all that miscellaneous simple device charging, anything micro USB, etc.

Way better strategy than built in IMO. Easy to replace, old one goes somewhere else (or given to family members), etc.

Social security is not identification though. We can't call it that because its a crap ID. Closer would be RealID, but that's still reliant on the state.

So I'd disagree saying SS is a national ID, its a number not identification.

Can someone like that actually be rehabilitated

I doubt it. Which is why I'm a fan of letting them disappear forever in a prison, and never have the opportunity ever again to harm a child.

or can they serve as an example of what happens to monstrous pieces of shit like that?

Also doubt it.

These sort of people will not recognize their own actions as being wrong, and they also wont "learn" from the punishment of others.

So the only thing public torture would do is provide a spectacle for those who enjoy it. It won't deter anything. There used to be public hangings, stocks, etc - which also was not stopping the crimes from happening.

I played games on channel 3.

I installed dos on an IBM model 30 286 with a stack of 3.5" floppies.

The apple 2e's in school were great for playing games.

The Mets had a good years playing baseball when I was little.

Oh I'm not complaining. Its quick and simple to navigate. I don't need flash, I need function.

I wouldn't mind updates with that aspect kept in mind, but I'm not going to complain about it either. I think more websites could use debian.org as an example.

Which also came back in a Lower Decks episode with Ferengi (who end up turning their poaching camp into a mugato habitat)

A path only open by Republicans losing this election, which is a critical point that can't be missed.

That list grows so damn quickly.

Many abortions are also due to miscarriages, a child is wanted but that pregnancy was not viable, while later ones are.

Which is why even discussing the idea of these nonsense data points is useless.

So you're agreeing that the message you're sending is that you're totally cool with fascism and an effective end to the legitimacy of elections.

Noted and thanks for the confirmation.
