I told them up front that Xfinity isn’t available at my new address but they had to ask all the questions anyway.

That's wild.

When I canceled with them (about 4 years ago) I said I moved and they dont service the area, and that was the end of it.

Though I should have suspected Comcast would find a way to get worse.

A core developer quit and forked it to make freenginx, based on a claim of corporate interference in security practices.

This was about 6 months ago and probably what you are thinking of. Its still open source, there doesn't seem to be anything that's come of the issue that was the cause of the split, and nginx is still actively developed.

Right, so you don't understand what's being discussed then. Thanks for the confirmation I guess.

Similarly, I use my windows work laptop for accessing remote (usually Linux) systems, and a few specific apps that are windows only.

My desktops are Linux (and of course my servers here as well), and I have a windows VM for those tools that are windows only that I need. Which I've modified that VM heavily to not have the normal junk from windows.

A recent decision for "security" will require using AAD joined machines only to access email/teams/etc. I was going to make an exception for my machines, then decided against it. My laptop now just sits off to the side, with only teams and outlook running, and its basically all I'll use it for.

You mean my serial console cables?

Its a bit worse than that, as I understand it.

It would have to be proven as medical malpractice, which would be much harder. It was a legal ploy to avoid any consequences.

Note that this is based on my layman understanding and other articles I've read on this, as well as comments from a few people in the medical industry I know (doctor, two nurses, and a friend in biotech).

Different profiles on Firefox are nowhere near Chrome.

I'm still going to use FF, but there are areas it lags behind Chrome. That's the only big one for me.

That's one core

I'd lean towards the pi being the problem, but you can test the network throughput with iperf, and would want to test the videos outside of Kodi on the pi, so you could also check top and see what the processing looks like.

If I remember my pi 4 hardware decoding specs correctly, I believe h.264, MPEG 2, and VC1, and some support for HEVC. If I had to guess, you may have some codecs that aren't handled by hardware acceleration, and instead just CPU.

My best rec would be to use either a dedicated stream box (like a fire stick, Nvidia shield, etc) which has better codec support, or pick up like a little Intel n100 based system, which will handle a drastically wider set of codecs with full acceleration support.

Right now I've got a Roku and a Google TV Chromecast, and I've been trying with various environments on an old Lenovo m910q so I can find my favorite fit of UI/distro. The Roku and Chromecast never stutter, and I don't do transcoding for inside the home. Works with 4K HDR HEVC no problem.

Edit: Autocorrect annoyances.

Seems to be a near copy paste of another comment. This is concerning.

It happened in the late 90's, but wasn't revealed until about 2008 or 2009 (a year or two after Boris Yeltsin died). No, there is no video, at least none any of us would have access to.

He was the President at the time.

Who cares?

Locally, I have third party candidates that have made it to various offices. Do you think a new federal level party just magically appears?

Seriously, what part of this do you not understand? Because I don't think you're jumping to wild conclusions here, I think you're achieving teleportation levels here.

The DNC does not matter.

You have TWO choices for president. Full stop, no discussion, that's reality.
