Active subscriber count should be the more active one, but I agree.

Ideally we'd have native multi a communities right now, so I could see all of my subscribed Linux communities in my Linux multi, all of my subscribed ttrpg in the ttrpg multi, etc.

Definitely an improvement that could be in place. I think letting the user combine the groups to see would be best, because then you can group how you'd like. Having multiple communities with similar topics is no different than reddit, but reddit has multis.

One of the rare situations where that specific mustache can make me laugh!

Soooo much nicer.

Working on tweaking a new launcher for my "Kids Version" htpc, with gcompris, a few shortcuts to some really great non-profits with education games, and of course JF. 4th gen Intel dell micro, runs like a dream...

I can see where there could be use... I live in the kind of area where the only path available at certain points is major roads, where going 30mph in a car would be so slow its dangerous.

Being able to hit a higher speed like 50 for a short period, then get off and go back to biking.... That I could see as an appropriate use.

Personally I like the idea of electric, I have a crappy knee so if it hurts randomly (which happens), I basically turn around use one leg to actually pedal. As a result, I'm not doing the rides I used to do, from a 100 mile weekend bit of fun down to around a 10 mile super quick bit of fun. Electric would make me feel comfortable going for longer. Of course, I'm not looking to go 60mph on a bicycle anyway.

A dumb phone and a feature phone are not the same thing, and a feature phone may connect to the internet.

Awesome! Checking it out now, thanks!

Yeah but... Who is wall mounting smaller than a 55" these days?

[-] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

... Yes. But only on one machine.

Mostly its stable (all of my servers, an editing machine, etc) but I'll do silly things when I need to try something, like image a drive, change the sources to testing/unstable, do what I need to do to test, then reimage.

And recently started running EndeavourOS then Arch because I honestly spend too much time in Debian and felt like poking around at other solutions again, which I do every several years or so.

Btw, the short answer on this is don't expect zoom to be more than it is - conferencing/webinar software. For production quality, do it outside zoom so you're feeding it what you want, and not relying on their interpretation of what good video production looks like.

Because let's be honest here, they suck at that. As does Microsoft. None of them understand the needs, so it's best to assume they never will.

Yup.

Visually I like Thunder quite a bit, but it's still fairly early in their development so it doesn't have feature parity yet.

Voyager, while stylistically not my favorite, is the most performant and usable out of any of the apps I've tried. It's what I use most often (though I still have a ton of Lemmy apps installed and occasionally switch around on a new release to try them out).

Relay and Sync were my preferred Reddit apps, Relay probably got the longest use for me, though Sync was the last I used regularly before the API shenanigans.

It's been overall positive, I like it, honestly my main reason to go back to Debian is it's like second nature to me. I've literally had Debian somewhere in my setup since the late 90s, probably around 2.1 I'd say.

Overall Endeavour feels like a great daily driver, I just can't tell you how many times I've had to stop myself as I typed in 'apt' or 'dpkg'.

Definitely a distribution worth checking out though!

I'll be totally candid, I have no idea what version of Xbox is current these days.

But didn't they have a CVE a few months ago they previously claimed wasn't an issue?

Edit: Found it. https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2024-28916
