To add to this, if you compare a dresser (or table or whatever) at ikea to a piece of the same price range from pretty much anywhere else, it's almost absurd how much better quality the IKEA piece will be. Or maybe it's more accurate to say it's absurd how crappy the non-IKEA piece will be.
Seriously, go to a furniture store and look at the drawer construction and hardware on a $1000 dresser and compare that to a $400 IKEA dresser.
There is definitely some garbage at the bottom of their price ranges, but their mid range stuff is generally a solid value.
That's a deep reference, even for The Far Side!

It's funny because every other McMansion Hell post makes fun of houses with turrets, but I'm with you... I'd love a 3rd floor turret with windows on all sides for a chillaxing space.
In lots of the old forums I used to use, commenting on a thread would subscribe you to it. I have no idea if the software supports it, but I'd like the ability to sort by New Posts to Subscribed Threads, or something similar. I think being able to keep tabs on activity in threads you have posted in might help prolong the lifetime.
The comment about thread necromancy also brings back memories. I'm not really sure why that was ever such a taboo, especially since reposting old topics was also frowned upon...
