This does seem to match exactly what the OP asked for.
Yeah, looks interesting, I'm going to check it out too.

Just looked it up, the title sounds intriguing. I often think about it, and have talked about the need for slowing down in today's world with friends. How are you liking the book? Sounds like something worth reading.
How is the Culture series? I tried to read the first book a long time ago, but couldn't get into it.
Also, someone else mentioned Le'Carre above, how do you like his work?
Just looked up Thieves' World series, it looks really interesting. Adding it to my wishlist!
Bookmarked, will read it when I have some free time and let you know.
Well, as someone who care about privacy (online and otherwise), there have been moments in our recent history where it has been very 1984. At least in that one aspect. And there are places in the world, where "alternate truths" spread by the government make it impossible to discern what's what (at least for average citizen). But yeah, I agree, we haven't gone full 1984 yet.
Looked it up, saw the name "Peter Newman", and heard the voice of Seinfield, "Hello, Newman".
What are you not liking about it? Writing style? Or issue with story / world-building / characters etc?
Haha, yeah, I agree, fantasy / sci-fi is the most dominating genre, though we do get some mentions of different genres.
I think this has to do with the lemmy demographics, it's still not mainstream. So, the popular genres are skewed more toward geek-ish crowd.
Ah, I have heard of Priory of the Orange Tree, but doesn't that come before "A Day of Fallen Night"?
I have James Joyce's Ulysses in my to-read pile for over a decade, but it looks so daunting, so never started it.
Nice collection of books that you are reading. Have fun!
Nice! I have been thinking about starting the Discworld series, once I am done with Dresden Files. I have read a few of the novels, but not near enough the full series. I have few of the starting one, so going to start in the written / published order.
Have you read any other subseries of Discworld, which one is your currently your favourite?
I read Poe when I was pretty young, and didn't really get most of his work. I think I need to revisit it now.
