Memory, storage, and bandwidth are extremely important in my job, though not my direct focus, and I can say over 50 years as a sysadmin and coder, I have never encountered "mb" and had it actually mean "millibits". Literally not once. Now "Mb" definitely has some ambiguity (in bandwidth, it's used for Megabits, and in memory/storage, it's more often than not a typo of MB), but "mb" actually meaning "millibits"? No, friend. Just no.
