I didn't downvote you, for the record lol.

The tl;dr is that India and Pakistan used to be a dozen different countries until foreigners showed up with guns and decided to redraw the map. All those international tensions didn't evaporate, and it's more or less the equivalent of trying to put angry cats together in the same bag. The British didn't cause the tensions, but their fuckery absolutely made it worse.

The article also doesn't cover the Sikh separatists, but they've also been around since the East India Trading Co merged their empire with India, and the current Indian government has been assassinating supporters.

That's probably why it's stuck around now that we don't have wood fired stoves, but lifting a lid to check on a pot really does cause heat loss and makes it take longer to boil.

I think I'm the reason my high school installed security cameras.

So, we had mandatory parenting classes in lieu of sex ed, but the school didn't have the money for those rubber babies and just made us carry around hardboiled eggs for a week. I still don't understand that logic, but hey that's conservative america for you.

This went, predictably, very poorly. Lots of 'babies' got stolen, smashed, and/or thrown out of windows, and this one guy in particular kept being weirdly pervy about it. Being conservative america, the teachers did not care that he was harassing girls about their eggs.

This guy wanted a girl's egg so damn bad, I watched him put the combo into his locker, peeled my name sticker off the week old egg, and left it in his locker over the weekend.

The next week, there were cameras in the hallways.

It's from a federal law passed under the Bush administration, tying funding to standardized testing scores.

But it was bipartisan, so you're not wrong.

From what I understand, this is sorta like a hangover from pre-DNA taxonomy. We went "yeah, those all look like fish, we'll put them in the fish group", only to find out later that a bunch of them weren't very closely related at all. So now we have a 'fish' group that's a total mess, and we're in the middle of getting it organized and re-labelled.

Ugh, don't get me started on how shitty my local plastic recycling is. I would probably use it more if I didn't have to purchase a bin for it each time. At first I was like, okay whatever I just have to buy one bin, but no they throw the whole thing in the back of the truck, which is why we can't use a cardboard box.

Who comes up with this shit??

I'd fess up about it. You were acting irrationally, and it's going to be better to hear the confession from you, and not learning about this because somebody on IG reached out to him. Because it was a livestream, you can't really hide it anyways, there's receipts.

This is honestly the sort of stuff that therapy is really good for, but I know therapy can be inaccessible, so no hate if it's not something you can do.

It sounds like a few different things got mashed together there. Ergot is a hallucinogenic fungus that grows on rye, and is speculated to be the cause of some of the witch panics. It's not the same fungus found in Roquefort, but it is what they use to make LSD.

Witches flying is hypothesized to be entheogen use, since a common side effect is feelings of floating, flying, or otherwise 'being high'.
