so they just slapped it on the hull and called it a day as they moved on to the M4 Sherman

yep, but you can also easily tell from that photo that the M3 hull formed the basis for the M4 hull. Basically they wanted to build it like the M4 the whole time but couldn't, so the M3 was made on that platform as a stop gap solution

Personally, I would probably just store them as text, because I'm objectively a terrible programmer.

I don't know man, I'd far prefer storing a string and have whatever date library I'm using figure it out than have to deal with whatever the database thinks about dates and timestamps

upgrade

it's a sidegrade in many cases, sometimes even a straight downgrade

a lovely higher refresh rate 1440p monitor would be a great sweet spot to consider.

nah, screw that, a 4090 is wasted on anything not 4K in my opinion

[-] fiah@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago

upgrade your monitor

of all the possible choices out there, the 3090 is pretty ass but the 4090 is actually one of the best. But not on 1080p, you ought to have ditched that back when you got that 2080

there are decentralized currencies that work perfectly well without wasting tons of energy, although I agree that none have yet achieved the necessary scale to actually replace current centralized money systems. These currencies might find a niche that doesn't need the capacity to handle thousands of transactions per second, or perhaps one of the many many different ways to scale these currencies that are currently being worked on will end up being good enough (they aren't, yet)
