I was having this issue, the solution was to go into my profile settings on the instance it's made on, and select literally every single language. So far, it's fixed it.

I've done a lot of de-enshitification in my digital life over the past year, most recently by de-google my phone. I'm going to be honest: It's not easy, nor convenient, and a lot of the time not cheap. You really have to go out of your way to get what you want, sacrificing at least something a long the way (features, usability, etc). It takes quite a bit of desire and determination to move away from the modern garbage that these companies shove your way, and I'm honestly not sure if it's worth it for the average person because of the massive amount of effort that it takes.

All of the above is to say that if you really want to avoid enshitification you're gonna have to make changes, such as buying a different set of peripherals for your pc, and that it's not gonna be easy. The real question is: is all of that work worth it for you?

For me it 100% has been.

Yeah trying to find anything on any of the competing apps is basically impossible. I mean ffs OSMand literally couldn't do address lookup!

Honestly there's so much shit about Tesla's software on the Internet. I own a model y with "FSD" and I can confidently say that the current version (12.5.3) is a 90% solution. Is it perfect? No. Can it do everything? No. Can it drive me to work and back, to the grocery store, and whatever else I need without me intervening? Yes it can, and has no issues 90% of the time. Obviously for it to be considered level 5 or whatever it needs to work 99.999% of the time, but it's good enough right now for me to not only use it regularly, but to also enjoy using it.

It's an awesome piece of software and it still blows my mind to watch my car drive me around. We are living in the future.

Back when it was useful for reddit I remember thinking one time "Huh, it's been a while since this app updated, wonder whats up?" Only to visit the subreddit and find out that he's scrapped the last updated and has been awol for months lmao. Somethings never change.

Still a great app, use it every day.

It would be an even bigger shame if they all got drafted when they got there and sent to the front lines. That would be so sad :(

I really wish biking was more of an option in most of the us. Unfortunately the vast majority of cities in this country are car-centric strip mall wastelands. Nothing like having a 5 foot wide bike lane right next to a 65mph highway.

I use both. More memes more fun

So honest question, cant you do the same exact thing with less than half the effort by just streaming to twitch it discord?

[-] gimmemahlulz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 months ago

Why.... not just stream on discord? You're already using it. This honestly seems like a lot of extra work for very little pay off.

At least with a tesla you have to manually confirm the update, and can cancel out of it for 2 minutes after doing so. If something happens between then and 15 minutes later then i guess you're fucked, but with the amount of control you have this really should never be a problem.
