The former. I would love to start these online communities but I don't have the time nor emergy to maintain them; I'm barely browsing reddit and lemmy as it is.

For now, I can only compromise and use reddit.

So turns out it's a launcher problem, not a browser problem. Thanks for the suggestion though, I've tried Kiwi browser and it's great for Chrome-alternative, but ultimately I picked Opera for the features.

I use the one from playstore. Sure, I'll try the launchers you suggest later. Even if it doesn't fix my problem, it's about time I launcher hop anyway :D

Thanks for reminding me. I used RES and curated my reddit page to only subreddits I personally followed; I forgot that many redditors have different experience than mine. Most of subreddits in r/popular (or is it r/all?) are just user engagement machine. I agree that's probably not great for mental health in a long term.

Did you untick "Show Read Posts" in the setting? I think I read some similar case like yours on another post and that was the problem.
