These days I'd recommend Clone Hero

TLDR; What are some good party games that encourage getting to know each other and are not centered around drinking?

A year ago I had a great party. I split all participants (maybe 16 people) into 4 teams and made a 3 game tournament which was very appreciated. This year I am hoping to replicate the good vibe we had, but I want new games.

I am now asking you; What are some good party games?

Criterias:

  • Low or no amount of randomness (to keep things competitive)
  • Reasonably easy to acquire the materials for
  • Possible to do as a team
  • Encourages interaction, either within the team, between teams or both
  • Should not be centered around drinking

What are some other companies that are also very down to earth and not using every trick in the book to get away with stuff?

I come to think of the Proton foundation, but that's just because I am a fanboy of theirs.

I'm glad you liked it!

I was having dinner outside watching the sun set over the city with my girlfriend. She noticed the colors in the reflections in the building. I have been trying to encourage her to get into photography, so I handed her the camera to take the shot. She managed to capture it really well!

The colors might be a bit exaggerated in post processing, but it is a great shot none the less!

Most, if not all, of those hired as a software developers at any of these companies has loads of other jobs they could take. The only thing setting them apart is the size of the paycheck.

For less in-demand skills I get your point though.

What are some good recommendations on books (physical or digital) on photography I can read to become a better photographer?

I have had my Nikon D3200 for about a year now and am having lots of fun with it. Now that I will soon have some time off from work, I want to improve my skills and become a better photographer.

I have learned and now understand the basics of the exposure triangle and how to use these settings to create different effects as desired.

What I think I need the most is to become better at composition and finding the right angles that give a shot its depth.

What literature would you recommend I read during my time off to become better?

You can see my journey in my posts here on Lemmy, or for a more easily digestible format, check out my Mastodon account.

If something needs more information, just ask, and I'll reply.

I appreciate any advice you have for me.

Because you seem to have networking capabilities

I think the argument here was that even if you yourself don't drink, if the bar is not within walking distance, you are still pushing others around you who do drink to drive drunk as that will be their only alternative.

Situations like these are the strength of the fediverse. Move your account to an instance that shares your values or doesn't care about stuff like this.

Maybe you shouldn't even have had your account on the largest server to begin with?

Edit: Didn't mean to ridicule any of you all. I based my comment on my experience when I signed up. At that time there were plenty of instances to pick from and getting approved at my instance of choice was very quick. My bad.

I believe the people still ranting about Reddit just have not yet given up their hope in returning there some day when Reddit has "learned their lesson".

For some, Lemmy is just a temporary protesting statement.

People who are unable to control their anger. Especially if they let it go into shouting and being physical.

I get being angry. We have all felt furious for various reasons. But nothing good will come from throwing a tantrum. Behaving like an unstable manchild will only make me loose my respect for you.
