I tried doing a TimeShift restore last week for another software issue, and nvidia drivers crapped the bed (again). Decided it was time to bite the bullet and swapped out my 1080 Ti with a 7700 XT. Did a clean install of Manjaro, and it was eerie how simple it was to get everything including Wayland to work. Should’ve done it two years ago.

After looking at the upgrade options (and shopping with your wallet, not mine), I'd say buy a MK4 kit. You're in a fairly unique position that you aren't taking apart a working printer; you're getting a new printer with 2023 electronics and motors for a discount.
However, if sinking that kind of cash isn't wise for you right now, then build what you have! Or, pick up the MK3S+ upgrade kit for $50USD. MK3S+ is a reliable workhorse, and mine won't be retired anytime soon. It still prints PETG as well or better than my X1C, if a little slower.

Quit fucking about on the internet - we need to win decisively and have the election denier’s bullshit shut down immediately.
Call up your county’s Democratic Party and go knock some doors or drive people to the polls with them. Talk to your (sane) friends and relatives to make sure they’ve voted, or have a plan for how they’re going to get to their polling location and vote on Tuesday.
Do that, and we can get back to fucking about on the internet and sharing transgender Star Trek beans memes, instead of fighting off fascism.
