I thought it might be interpreted as mean spirited

ngl, it is, a touch, but, I mean, seriously, "no it's ok because capitalism and don't tell people or they'll kill themselves" lol, um, wut? lol ... there is no other way to respond to that.

I’ll bring it back just for you!

LOL!!

The original station was called "City TV", they had a news program called "City Pulse". In the late 90s/early 00s they launched a 24h news channel and called it "Cable Pulse 24". At some point along the journey they shortened to that unfortunate name that I will now not ever be able to see and not laugh!!

I have a Flag Smashers shirt... go figure, they speak to me.

I was putting it on a couple days ago and I paused and thought about it, and suddenly realized the immensity of the propaganda - the great Captain America destroying the evil socialists who think resources should be shared by everyone, and that nationalism is a barrier to truly having 'one human family'.

Blew my mind it took me this long. Also made me wonder if they were dug up from long ago comics when America was openly and blatantly monitoring and persecuting socialists and communists (specifically picturing the scenarios and time illustrated in Oppenheimer). Haven't had a chance to dig in to that part yet, but I will right now!

#1 - quitting drinking. I'd have been long dead by now the way I was going. #2 - starting meditation. I'm still not sure how I went 30-someodd years in this body prior with all that noise in my head.

I disagree entirely - the first one I saw was comparing the base model iPhone 16 to a flagship Sony from some years back. This was spot on, and I loled hard. Kudos @Spezi@feddit.org

Trying to park at a mall, in Toronto, in early December one year (so Christmas shopping ramping up) ... amusingly for an appointment with a psychologist.

She had to come out at park the car for me.

Drivers in this city... so, so toxic.

I had coding and k8s tests before my current role. As they role is platform engineering, it may not be quite the same as if you're going for an actual coding job, but - it was open book, and you could pick your language - they weren't trying to test "do you know [language]", they were trying to test your analytical and thinking skills.

The only part of it I remember now (vaguely) was something about flipping a coin. It wasn't actually a coding test so much as a logic and problem solving test. The only thing I actually brought to the table was knowing most languages have a modulo function and how to make use of one for various thing (from experience, I've never actually been formally taught any coding), and I basically then Googled the pieces to put it together. They know that's what you're going to do on the job anyway, as literally everyone does, so why keep you from doing it in an interview?
