Because they have different appid. Izzy version is app.organicmaps.web fdroid version is app.organicmaps (you can see this in the url). Google version uses the same appid as fdroid. You can't have two apps installed with the same appid, but this way you can have both installed at the same time.

I guess organic devs wanted separate appid for their 2 versions and fdroid just went with the default, original one.

So the 3 versions:

  • Web: built by organic devs, you can download this from github releases, scraped from there by izzy
  • Google: built by organic devs, you can download from github or from play store
  • Fdroid: built by fdroid build server, signed with fdroid devs' key.

Early iOs and Android icons were one of the last offshoot of the style called "Frutiger Aero"

Flat icons don't necessarily bad and undetailed, it's just harder to create something more recogniseable with less tools, but I actually like the order, that they look like they are related to each other. Back in the day I created icon packs for the programs I used on pc, so my desktop would look clean and uniform.

Design styles are in a cycle, just wait some years and they will show up again, I'm sure. There is already some connection with the new style of windows 11.

This is part of a series by Adam Hillman where he recreated famous paintings from everyday objects, here is an article about them: https://mymodernmet.com/famous-paintings-arrangements-adam-hillman/

This is definitely Guernica, and it seems like it's painted on some kind of biscuits?

mastodon.social, the "default" instance federates. If you have an account there you can see zuckerberg's profile with this link: https://mastodon.social/@zuck@threads.net/ without an account this redirects to threads

On other federating instances just search for @zuck@threads.net

Poor Lewis Hamilton fans. Or is this for football only?

Sketchup is a "direct" modeling software, while FreeCAD is a "parametric" or "history based", so most of the things work totally differently. Here is a nice article comparing these different approaches in modeling software: https://www.bluentcad.com/blog/parametric-vs-direct-modeling/

So the biggest problem won't be to find similarly named commands in FreeCAD but to learn about this completely different way to model things.

There were other similar initiatives where everything is encrypted, so you cannot be sure what others store on your node. For torrent you can select what torrent you download and share.

I was thinking about Storj, where you get "money" for hosting other people's content in a similar p2p fashion. For Storj the answer to the first 2 questions are money, but you can't answer the third, because encryption. ("Money" is not real money but some strange crypto, but that's not important now.)

CSAM is just the worst possible example, it's forbidden in most countries of the world, and no sane people should be ok storing it. The main thing is, if you host other people's content, can you know what is the content, do you have some word if you want to host it or not.

Is 'meteorologist' the correct word here? I would expect a lava warning from a volcanologist or geologist instead.

What direct integration? You get a button on the UI, vs you do everything the way you want.

HAOS is intended for people who want everything to just work, without much fiddling. If you need something more, you need a docker based install. You can do everything there and even more, but you have to set it up manually.
