Source? As far as I know they didn’t claim to not know location until iOS 17 release. Up until then they could access that info, and were required to give it up provided with warrants. This has been a reason Apple has actively been limiting the data they have access to. They cannot be compelled to give up data they have no way of accessing.

Yes, only the person with the key can decrypt. Apple doesn’t have the keys.

If that actually happens money is literally just paper at that point.

The $1 in my account actually grows. Sorry you don’t understand basic finance.

Just wait until you see people clearing snow with a leaf blower, cause they are too lazy to shovel. It’s ridiculous.

You really have no clue how inept “most users” are. I’d be extremely surprised if even 20% of the population would be able to use Linux without getting extremely frustrated at the first error, and unable to fix anything themselves.

Excellent. You have no idea what you’re talking about :)

I was under the impression that a company (AT&T) owns the tower, and they can lease out connections from that tower to other providers. They are also required by law to route 911 calls for free, but I can see a scenario if they botched the routing where 911 would not be accessible from that tower.

I’ve heard this a couple times now. Where in Canada are they doing this?

[-] ji17br@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Incorrect. Apple does not need to approve or sign any code for it to run on any Mac.

The thing you have to factor in is they can’t make very many of them due to technical limitations. I agree $2k would be a good price but if they will sell as many as they could possibly make at $3.5k they aren’t going to sell for less. Gotta recoup all that R&D cost somehow.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a better, more refined headset from Apple for under $2k in the next few years. I’m sure they know $3500 is out of reach for the vast majority of consumers.

Just needs some toe jam.

Apple hasn’t said anything. It’s based on the supply chain. All Apple has said is early 2024 but all analysts predict a launch announcement in the next couple weeks, with actual launch within a month.
