I havent figured out yet what a tankie is.
You'll quickly learn that money isnt everything. The stress of this nonsense will eventually kill your work ethics. Start looking now.
But now that the cat's out of the bag...
Its not hard really, and you shouldn't be afraid to ask, if we don't ask then we don't learn :)
Look at Caddy webserver, it does automated SSL for you.
It was at the beginning of the pandemic when my dad died.
He was in the hospital, and i could sense he was dying, but no doctor would come to check. At the end of visiting hours i was escorted out with 3 police officers, only to get a phone call the next morning that he was, indeed, dying. I was so angry at everyone.. i think ive never felt more "black" then that. I swear i could have killed anyone who got in my way for that first year after :(
I know plenty of Linux professionals who are no beginners, but still prefer mint :)
Lately i feel that every update Microsoft relases breaks something, its getting really anoying :(
But alas! What can we do. Thankfully im a linux user so at the end of my work day i go home and relax :)
Well, i would imagine if hes the only one who has administrative access to the gitlab environment, then basicly he can do as he pleases and anyone on the board cant stop him anyway (if they cant remove him from gitlab because they have no administrative rights), so all they can do is quit.
Thats what i think :)
That was a rather nice read :) thank you!
True story 😂 people buy weird stuff from gewenneth paltrow, surely she could marketing this to a succes!
It depends on what you want, but here is where i started:
I watched a lot of youtube videos about opensource software. Then i got a nice second hand server that was quiet and didnt use too much power. I installed ProxMox on it instead of VMware (opensource) and then i slowly started to build VM’s for whatever i wanted to selfhost.
A very important aspect that a lot of users ignore is security. You need to keep everything up to date. Follow sites with regards to your software (you can aelfhost freshrss. So thats a nice start) and keep “up” with cybersecurity.
These days i have a small server with Alpine installed on it. Since most my selfhosted things now come in docker. If you go that way, learn yourself everything anout docker and docker compose. Compose is a really powerful tool once you work with docker!
They died. At very crucial points in my life. My dad 4 years ago, i mom 1.5 months ago.
Its litterally the worst thing they ever did.
