The only way I see to solve it is to force vendors to release hardware specs and unlock bootloaders so you can install your own software on it.
Nah. Legislation to make it planned obsolescence illegal would be much more effective.
That's not true.
All it takes are enough people getting burned by centralized products to see the value in decentralization.
As businesses get greedier and run out of corners to cut, they will continue to cannibalize their userbase until it becomes irrelevant.
I figure similar to educating people on how burning fossil fuels contribute to global warming, it will just take time and experience to educate people on the value of decentralization.
The biggest hurdle is getting people to understand that they are wrong and don't know everything.
I dunno. There are some very enthusiastic Honda fanboys that will be watching like a hawk.
This could just be Nissan reading the writing on the wall and choosing to do something about it before it's too late.
Honda still needs to rely on more than "nationalism" to sell their cars, unlike American brands.
Yeah. Unfortunately too many americans still view themselves as the ruling elite.
If you look at things globally, they still have a lot of reason to believe that even if it isn't actually true.
Oh thanks! I'm actually missing a few, although I'm not sure how they fell out.
Out of curiosity, who do you use to provide internet?
I'm not too familiar with wifi routers, but I've been using my phone exclusively for internet for the past 2 years.
It's possible you're just with a company that doesn't provide good service. I use Visible for $25/month and it gives me access to Verizon's network with unlimited data and no throttling, provided there's no congestion (which there pretty much never is.)
They get to make up rules whenever rich people are worried.
Not a big fan of carving up the internet like this.
Yeah. Looks like they're heading towards their "most violent election ever."
I think it would only be illegal for minors.
I don't believe you.
