Ah shoot, I wasn't aware posts about them were a no-go, specially since this is a useful tool for people that already have hardware from them, it isn't any sort of news about "hey buy our new product" or something like it.

more people than you would imagine, unfortunately

the main takeaway from this is that when this becomes the default, eventually electron apps will also have this by default

make sure the hardware really works

Also make sure the software really works, one of the main issues with Linux adoption by hardware manufacturers is their lack of dedication to it. In Brazil, for example, most brands that ship with a Linux distro (except for DELL, which ships with Ubuntu) ship with basically digital waste (unmantained, poorly developed distros) just to make the hardware cheaper, because they know people will get it to just install a pirated copy of Windows in it.

render farms are a thing for big studios

You won’t be able to just dynamically switch between video adapters.

You will if you use GNOME, at least. It uses switcheroo to provide an easy way to open apps with your discrete GPU through a right click menu.

The event happened before the name change, we just changed the title and thumbnail of the video to properly name the spins as they currently are.

And so will there be more people to look into and fix the vulnerabilities, specially if we can foster a bigger community of open source developers by being a healthier community overall.

Ideally becoming an active contributor to the project would be better, maybe you can start with that and eventually contribute with more as time goes on, you can always join our onboarding Matrix room and say hi!

Links for more context on what composefs is and why you'd want to use it for your image-based OS (like Silverblue):

Hey guys, the Fedora shill is back again to invite you all to this year's Creative Freedom Summit, that will be hosted from 23-25 Jan.

It's a really nice event hosted by our Design Team for those that are interested in FOSS creative tools, like Inkscape, GIMP, Krita, Blender and more, as you'll be able to learn directly from its creators and or specialists in those tools.

It'll be all hosted using FOSS tools as well (Jitsi for the speakers, PeerTube for the event stream + Matrix for the live chat), check it out!

Also, for those that haven't seen last year's event, all of the talks are available on Fedora's YouTube channel and on the event's PeerTube channel!

You pretty much described Fedora. Non-LTS stable 6-month release cycle with 1 year of support for each release.

Why wait for Microsoft when you can just...

Your setup is already pretty good, but I can recommend Silverblue with my personal use.

I can't say I am suprised but I sure am glad that the Asahi SIG has been so successful.

Kudos to everyone involved!
