I'm converting from Firesticks once the new Apple TVs come out. I'm sick of the constant upselling and Amazon's been putting much more effort into blocking me from using a custom launcher than basic stability and usability.
I agree with this in principle, but the way they were allowed to compete as the "Russian Olympic Committee" was bullshit. You can't have a team called "totally not Russia (wink)" and expect that to be a meaningful punishment for the nations leaders
I think the athletes should only be able to compete as citizens of the world with no reference or acknowledgement of the banned country allowed.
The ink plan isn't required, you can still use regular cartridges.
This thread is about ChatGPT, an LLM. It is not a general purpose AI.
Pike is absolutely the kind of foodie who'd keep a supply of real bacon aboard. The good stuff keeps a while and they've probably got stasis fridges. I'm sure he's got a whole network of food purveyors across the quadrant to restock with meat and dairy every starbase visit.
And not to overlook #211: Employees are the rungs on the ladder of success... don't hesitate to step on them.
I'm with you. All the leaks I've seen so far have said it'll be flat. The curved screen protectors are awful and I've broken my Pixel 6 Pro's screen twice now. It's otherwise been a great phone, but I won't buy another curved screen phone ever again.
There's a reason the statement "May you live in interesting times" is a curse.
I would like to see a Short Trek of what went down during that 16hr+ road trip with Kirk & La'An
Nah. If Lemmy/Fediverse doesn't work out, there will be others. This has all happened before..
It seems to be working well enough. There will be growing pains, but I'm more than willing to live with some bugs & limitations while this all matures and grows. There's a risk of losing all comment history & whole communities if an instance decided to shut down, but that's true of centralized sites today. I'll take the chance on something less centralized that one single asshole corporation can't screw up.
It's not so much that we're boring, it's that we're so far away and not trivial to send mass and energy towards.
I think that a sufficiently advanced civilization that could come over for a visit wouldn't want to.
I also think a sufficiently advanced civilization with the curiosity and desire to learn about us could do so via probes and we'd never know they visited us.
