Cool, thanks for this! As a user of Caddy through Docker, I suppose I need to find a way to build a docker image to be able to do this?

Sometimes new simple technologies makes things simple - but only as long as one intends to follow how they are used... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I went with Ubuntu server and was pleasantly surprised when it offered to pull my pubkey off my github profile for ssh. A nice touch that I haven't seen in other servers flavors of various distros.

I didn't really see the benefit of this besides having a snapshot or backup of my home folder for my use case (I don't have that many config/text files that needs tracking), but I can recommend chezmoi for those interested.

Surface pros work, but they're not ideal for linux. Expect struggle during the installation, and be aware some parts of the hardware won't work.

The distro (asahi) is still in very early development, gpu acceleration was just recently added. That along with a esoteric architecture, will cause headaches for the uninitiated.

The macs themselves hardware wise are quite mature, but I can't for the life of me use MacOS.

I am a simple man, and like simple setups that's easy to maintain.

When it comes to my pictures and private data, I have them on one portable disk, that I rsync over to another portable disk on a monthly basis.

When it comes to my application logs and data, I back them up to a S3-compatible bucket with s3-cmd, through the frequency of my choosing as a cron-job. The S3 bucket is configured for "write once, read many" mechanism to avoid alternation of the data. And if the cron-job fails, I get a notification through ntfy.

Quite simple, and robust.

Joplin could also work (if FOSS is a hard requirement)

I always found the sysadmin sub to have an air of bitterness around it. Instead, I focused on the hobbyist tech-subs (such as selfhosted). Grated, their issues have a smaller scope, but still...

I used Jerboa, but found it clunky. Voyager provides a much nicer experience. I come from having used redreader, so I guess voyager provided a similar experience.

That's how I use it too, but I was surprised to see that it doesn't have syncing of bookmarks, history etc yet!

Is it relevant to use privacy badger for those who only open Google sites in a containerised tab?
