Can we please stop saying "left wing liberal" or implying in any way whatsoever that such a thing does or could exist? Liberalism is a hard-right ideology down to the core and slapping vacuous identity politics stickers on it to get more votes does not move the needle a nanometer. At bare minimum, the left begins at anti-capitalism, otherwise it's just right-wing infighting.

The proposal for “automatic” draft registration is among several previously-undisclosed provisions related to Selective Service in the newly-release version of the National Defense [sic] Authorization Act (NDAA)

a spokesperson for the SASC told me that if “automatic” Selective Service registration had been included in the bill, it would have been included in the summary. That proves to have been incorrect: The proposal for “automatic” draft registration was included in the SASC version of the bill, but not in the summary.

What’s a near-certainty is that this “must-pass” bill will be enacted into law, in some form, later this year – probably by a lame-duck Congress after the elections

Politically, registration and other preparation for a draft, by whatever means, makes war more more likely and enables military strategists to plan and commit to larger, longer, less popular wars without having to think about whether enough people will be willing to fight them.

He asked Stephanopoulos, “who's gonna be able to hold NATO together like me? Who's gonna be able to be in a position where I'm able to keep the Pacific Basin in a position where we're — we're at least checkmating China now? Who's gonna — who's gonna do that? Who has that reach?”

testimonies of Israeli soldiers and senior army officers, said that during Hamas’s unprecedented attack last October, the Israeli army started making decisions with limited and unverified information, and issued an order that “not a single vehicle can return to Gaza”.

The report said the Hannibal protocol “was employed at three army facilities infiltrated by Hamas”

“You will open fire without constraints, in order to prevent the abduction,” he said, adding that the use of force is carried out even at the risk of killing a captive

According to Haaretz’s investigation, a senior Israeli army source also confirmed the Hannibal procedure was “employed on October 7”. The source said post-war investigations would reveal who gave the order.

Current Ukrainian losses are over 2000/day; which would mean that a reluctant, frightened, untrained conscript army of 18-60 year old men who often lack ordinance and working armor are somehow smoking 12000 Russians a day. Some of the rubes may buy that shit, but no state intelligence is going to take that for truth. Ukrainians know it's bullshit. Who is he even trying to lie to?

Not really the same thing, my guy. The US puppet regime in the south keeps sending propaganda carried by balloons north into the DPRK telling them to give up on having a sovereign country. Some of the DPRK citizens have gotten sick of that bullshit and have been returning the favor.

Whereas Isn'treal is actively dropping white phosphorus bombs on civilians in south Lebanon and telling them (in multiple ways, including these balloons) to leave their homes so zionists can steal and colonize their land.

It's overpopulated when the west talks about Africa, India, China, Mexico and the poors. It's underpopulated when it talks about suburban white people who buy iphones.

When the first, what, ~10(?) small trucks/day crossed the pier and didn't even make it into Gaza, it was pretty obvious to everyone the military didn't spend over $300 million to help a fucking thing. My most cynical take was this would be used by the IOF as a military asset. Being right feels shit.
