When the USA joined the war it was already clear the axis had lost.
While I agree that that it was the Soviet and Chinese people that absorbed the greatest part of the Axis' powers warmaking ability (which western historians are apt to ignore), it's not true that the Axis had already lost the war by 1941. It's accurate to say that the US joined the war at a moment when the Axis forces had hopelessly overstretched themselves.
Well, let's face it... the "western world" is listening - and it likes what it is hearing. Just like the "western world" liked what it was hearing when Hitler and the Nazis explicitly stated what they were planning to do in the run-up to WW2.

The internet poses a threat to the status quo - my local library will never stock anything written by Emma Goldman or Noam Chomsky, but, thanks to the interent, this information is pretty much at my fingertips.
