Wow, that's crazy! I'm sorry that happened to you. Hopefully, after all that, you were spared from long COVID.

Answer: If it can be eaten, it will be eaten, or envenomated while trying. That snake was full of Australian cow venom, the most potent cow venom in the world!

You're thinking of a super soaker!

Technically, GPOs are just registry adjustments with English definitions tacked on. No doubt there will be tools for Home editions to fix this; for those that look, that is.

An example of this, that comes to mind, is Windows Update Blocker (WUB). All it does is enable the policies that block Windows Updates from Microsoft servers and stops their attempted workaround of the Windows Update Medic or whatever it is, which is solely talked with making sure the WU service is running. These are the same policies/registry settings that are triggered when an enterprise org uses WSUS to control update deployment.

I don't doubt, though, that Microsoft will to something shitty to ensure Home users cannot block it forever.

You pop in here and ask the community if we would be sad if you left? You're either phishing for a reason to leave by garnishing negative sentiment, further driving your "parishioners" to WANT defederation, or you are wanting to tarnish Lemmy as a platform, or both. Various sects of Christianity do this manipulative shit all the time. They force their flock to spread the word knowing full well they will face negativity -- no one likes to be solicited to -- and come crying to the church about their treatment, where the church comforts them and reinforces why only they can provide safety and warmth. It's cult tactics.

You don't want to know if you should defederate from the rest of us, you want to spread doubt in the platform and wall yourselves off to the world that doesn't conform to your views. You talk about negative aspects of Lemmy without offering any specifics and/or providing solutions to things you find problematic. To me, that's a red flag for someone wanting attention for a decision they already made. There's a sarcastic reply to that, I believe it's "bye Felicia."

More like they (politicians) would:

  • have to actually campaign rather than going to key campaign areas and ignoring those that couldn't help them win,
  • couldn't easily rig the game by gerrymandering the shit out of their districts to disenfranchise millions of voters, and
  • wouldn't be able to ignore the voters as easily once in office.

There's probably a lot more I'm missing but I'm sleepy!

Wtf are you talking about? Who said anything about not wanting or trying to change it? But voting third party will do nothing but fuck yourself and the party you'd rather have in power. No one with less than a 7-digit bank account wants to vote for one of two parties. We do what we must today for a chance to do what we want tomorrow. To do otherwise is either disingenuous, uninformed, selfish.

The US almost dropped the electoral college in the last decade. Back at that time we had a moderately functioning govt, higher taxes on the rich, and less money in politics.

That's why I say it won't change now. It's even more impossible than the last time we failed to make it happen.

As you age, the WiFi becomes less effective, leading to more moments of buffering.

I mean, to be real, they were there first and are the most abundant terrestrial creature in the planet.

Joking aside, ants go where there are reasons to go; food, security, and refuge. You can use a natural insecticide, lemongrass, to repel them. Hotshot was a product I used in the past to spray around windows and doors. It's safe for pets and children after it has time to dry. Not sure what you've tried, but that has worked for me.

I love lemmy, if nothing else because you can ask serious questions about something you don't know and not get, "Google it n00b" as the response!

Likely, the dude peaked in high school, kept going to high school parties after graduation cause all the underage kids he bought booze for thought he was cool, and discovered young girls didn't need as much effort to impress.

Or, to summarize, "You know what I like about high school chicks? I keep getting older, they stay the same age."
