This is no longer true. At least a couple dozen MPD rolled in not long after this was posted, followed by a convoy of state patrol riot pigs, all coming in via the east side from 6th and 24th. Most of the lines with protestors were still manned by ice but state patrol were holding at least one alley. Pretty sure I saw bovino go in that way too

Hard disagree tbh. Nothing will happen to the feds, it is only a serious threat to protesters in the crowd, an incentive not to do anything serious, you can disappear into a sea of people, but not a sea of cameras.
