I didn't pick them. :)
Dev 101 is not followed in real life... Sadly, caring about code quality is difficult or impossible when you work with others.
Yeah it's really hard to say it's only a reskin. It's clearly not.
There is also https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium as an option.
Seems like a new low every week lately.
I was really surprised by this too but yeah, people want to be on the same largest instance. I guess it's a community feeling by doing that. Or at least a feeling of safety, since it's unlikely the instance shuts down.
I was thinking that too. It would be a lot easier for new users if they were already subscribed to some communities so they get a feed with posts and can get started, ask questions, add or remove communities etc.
Maybe not tie it to Lemmy explorer but at least let people have some starting point.
Well to be fair, this is because of the stupid justice system in the US.
Just the term "afford to fight for it" is something that never should exist in a civilized society.
People still are arguing for downvotes here on Lemmy. I think they are poison to a good community. They are not helping to moderate - they are silencing opinions and creating echo chambers.
I have made 464 comments in the last month appearently. Thats a lot more than on reddit for sure. And then I was on vacation for two weeks in that time... :)
I will never pay the richest company in the world to watch YouTube. Then I just don't watch and instead contribute to something new that is distributed and federated.
Could become super popular, good work!
I've been there a few times, but will log in more and catch up. :)
