Cats are easily the best looking being on the planet.

I've been there a few times, but will log in more and catch up. :)

In all for trying it. Will enable it tomorrow then. Thanks!

I'm never closing mine as long as it has active users. Please come if it's a good location for you - western USA. Performance and uptime is really good but you will have some network latency if you are on the other side of the world.

More like organic user reviews I would say.

It's buggy though and doesn't seem to work properly. People have reported not seeing posts from Kbin on Lemmy at all sometimes.

I was really surprised by this too but yeah, people want to be on the same largest instance. I guess it's a community feeling by doing that. Or at least a feeling of safety, since it's unlikely the instance shuts down.

I would if it was another company than Google but I'm not going to support big tech companies with my money.

Google is tracking people all over the internet, and is one of the richest companies in the world. Now they want to get even more money? Right.

I'm paying for email and search but they are not from big tech.

I'm not worried. Text is tiny to store and any image posted remains on the source instance and is not duplicated, just linked.

Random loot boxes all over the map, where you have to pay real money to open them. What do you say? :)

They are all quite good, the clients. :) And now I have to try Voyager I guess...have to know what it looks like!

Yep also a valid usecase. I agree it's useful for technical discussions but at the same time, it's harmful for opinion based discussions.
