IMHO, he's always been "Left of Center (for an American)" or maybe neo-Liberal. I would never consider him a Progressive. Now, as we're seeing more progressive lawmakers and some progressive policies being spotlit, the Overton Window is expanding, and he's staying right where he's always been.

I don't think I've ever had to log into the Google Home app, it just uses the accounts on my phone. Or is this some sort of situation where, "I'm too Android to understand this problem?"

that provides background checks for employers, investigators and other businesses that want to check people's backgrounds.

Great editing once again brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department!

We can't just get rid of it, as the SCC has ruled that MAID is a constitutional right.

I don't think anyone should be locked away in Gitmo. It doesn't matter how bad a person is, they're still a person and shouldn't be exposed to torture, abuse, etc.

Well, that's because supporting Ukraine isn't political, but supporting Gaza is, and we can't have any politics in the workplace! (/s + people use "political" when they actually mean "divisive")

Like a lot of complex problems, the housing issue has multiple contributing factors. The other issues you brought up definitely are valid, but that doesn't invalidate the issues with parking and density. Most parking lots are way, way oversized.

Literally no one who does something like this thinks they're above the law when they're just doing to force our elected officials to comply with the law.

This didn't force any elected officials to comply with the law. As much as I dislike Trump and hope he goes to jail for his actual crimes, not releasing his taxes is not against the law.

I feel pretty similar about the changes at VW. We bought a used 2020 Golf this year and are really happy with it so far. I was kind of tempted by the SportWagen, but we don't need the extra space right now. I'd consider that as our next vehicle, but here in Canada they discontinued that a few years back. They had the Alltrack which might still tempt me but this year they stopped selling that as well as the baseline Golf. So now the closest options to what I would want in the future are the ID.4, the Golf GTI, or the Jetta, none of which appeal to me!

andOTP is no longer maintained, so it's not a good suggestion and you should probably see about migrating to another app. I personally went to Aegis and had a smooth transition.

They're not just lowering the speed limit. From the FAQ:

Will the roll out involve money being spent on speed bumps?

There is no plan to include traffic calming (including speed bumps) as part of the change to speed limits. There are other ‘softer’ measures that might be introduced, such as using buffer speed limits, removing the centre line, narrowing the carriageway visually, using planting etc.
