That doesn't line up with my experience. Canada banned single-use bags in 2023, and I notice a lot less reusable bags discarded on the street than the single-use ones before the ban.
You make a lot of assumptions about me and my experiences, and frankly, they're 100% wrong. I wasn't trying to insinuated that her situation is easy, I even say it's "making tough decisions".
Sure, hate capitalism all you want, but it’s the system we live in
As pointed out in the first paragraph of the article, "Lakota Language Consortium" is a nonprofit organization. While NPOs operate in our capitalist system, you expect them to have goals besides pure profit.
You really can't compare any other country to the Great Firewall of China.
They were going to have the PA day later in April anyways. I think this is a good example of being a bit flexible!
Also, she retired from Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. That's crazy coming from a former public servant in that position!

I feel @glitches_brew is sooo close to getting orange pilled. While it's not teleportation, we have the technology for high speed rail. Even my weekly commute of ~110km on conventional rail is about the same time as driving and I can get work done/watch videos/sleep instead of focusing on driving!
Some dealerships are better than others, but in my experience of buying a car in the last year, most dealerships are oblivious to EVs and the majority of the rest are hostile. Even if dealerships know anything about EVs, many are looking at the lack of EV maintenance and see disappearing recurring income for oil changes, etc
I disagree.
- Even if this change is only temporary, it still improves things for that time.
- Businesses don't like having to change back and forth based on Federal policy. Even if congress can't pass net neutrality, many businesses will give up if they have to adjust every 4-8 years.
While imperfect, it's far from irrelevant.
I don't support most new nuclear projects, but saying "it never has and never will work without massive subsidies" is asinine. I live in Ontario where roughly half our electricity comes from Nuclear, and that helped keep the cost reasonable for over a generation. France has also seen great success.
