Slaughtering civilians is never justified. What Hamas did was horrifying and a crime against humanity. But the reason why Hamas ever got so strong in the first place has a lot to do with how Isreal has systematically oppressed and killed Palestinians for decades. And the war it is waging now against the Palestinian people is also indefensible. It should be widely condemned, any support withdrawn and Israel should be sanctioned.
There's a new, more effective malaria vaccine coming out right now:
It's like inviding child molesters to a conference on child safety...
If they offer free returns, what can go wrong?
Exactly, people use religion to justify acts that would otherwise be seen as irrational and inhumane. But with religion out of the picture, people will still commit the same atrocities and just try to find other ideologies as justification, such as racism.
It'll always be X (formerly known as Twitter) to me.
Depends on the adult, depends on the child. But my worst experiences on planes have always been with other adults being drunk, taking half of my seat or smelling like two weeks old fermented sweat. And when children are seriously misbehaving, usually once I find out who the parents are, I feel more sorry for the kids than for myself.
Not saying China is the good guy here, but a lot of people pointing their fingers at them come from countries with much higher per-capita emissions.
Transmit basically unlimited electricity over a tiny conductor without losses. You could produce (solar) energy in the southern hemisphere and send it north during northern winter through a small wire.
The subscribers had no reason to unsubscribe.
I was the subscriber and I unsubscribed because I alone wasn't using it enough to justify the price. When I knew my sister and her family were watching too, it felt more like it was worth it.
There are some niche phones with a thermal camera, would love to see more of that. Thermal modules are getting smaller, cheaper and better all the time and the main producers like infiray or guide are offering modules that seem to be clearly targeted at the smartphone market.
I'm still discovering new uses for my thermal camera and I wish I could have it in my pocket all the time. The obvious uses are finding gaps in your house's thermal insulation or finding devices that draw a lot of standby energy. But you can also use it to find studs in your walls, find things that have recently been used, like cars in a parking lot or chairs in an office.
