competition model only works in urban environments

I live in a rural area, my kids went to Montessori. 30 mins drive each way for me.

And of course there is the Internet now. It is not a drop-in replacement, but for some kids and some subjects it works very well.

We can have regulation, education requirements, and standards while still encouraging healthy competition.

I think this is a really important point.

We as a society, as a civilization, have to figure out free speech/unfettered inquiry versus disinformation/objectively falsified (or even weaponized) speech

Greene has introduced a bill to outlaw “weather modification and geoengineering”

Okay, so her reasons for putting this forward are because she is a grown woman with a Sky Daddy.

But she's right, in this case, for two reasons.

  1. IMO as an engineer seeing how casually and quickly we are putting increasingly capable AI shit into fucking everything ... some regulations to control things like weather modification, geoengineering, and godlike intelligence are a pretty good idea.

  2. She does not seem to realize that dumping gigatons of CO2 into the atmosphere very much counts as "geoengineering"
