Thanks for sharing! What’re you using for your websites?

I turned votes off on my instance because I find them toxic... case in point I guess.

The whole reason I'm here is because I thought Lemmy makes more sense than Reddit for someone who likes selfhosting :) isn't that the whole point of the fediverse lol

Depending on if you put its volume in the image or a directory you need to look there. Check size or whichever it is. I believe for directory it’s du -h and for docker you could docker ps to see all.

Oh I see you say taking the directory size takes too long… how could that take more than 10 seconds…? Are you not using CLI

True, that is why I’m here. I don’t care about the Reddit api nonsense or hate Reddit just saw a comment asking why the Donald could selfhost but not selfhosting selfhost

Selfhosting via local servers is my fav thing recently. Learning Linux, file management, safe backups, how to host services privately and publically, FOSS and free alternatives to normal everyday software. The list of benefits go on

On my other accounts I say whatever I want but on my selfhosted one's I try to speak as I would in person.

There are so few comments that I would rather read a half-thought-out one than none! :)

My 8th grade English teacher made a big deal of reading that book which includes a lot more programming than the movie. I don’t remember the point he wanted to make though…

Finally my time to shine

That's funny you share this, a friend just sent it to me yesterday.

Similar to this: https://github.com/alibahmanyar/breaklist

This is an interesting way to receive data but I wish there was a way to do the reserve. Take handwritten/handled input into a computer. I asked this question the other day if I could somehow input my handwritten notes into programs like Trilium (or logseq whatever) and memos. OCR/HCR seems to far behind still so I am unsure. That would certainly be a cool method!

Found this video interesting and wonder if there are any alternatives within Linux systems

It seems to be a similar issue to this: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/106?scrollToComments=true

I see the docs say I need to search for every comment..??? https://join-lemmy.org/docs/administration/federation_getting_started.html

But that doesn't appear to be how it works on other posts.

I don’t want any users on my instances but I would like to have the freedom to choose how to run a community.
