Absolutely and same here being in the PC camp, though I do have a ps5 and switch.

There is also the Steam Deck to consider as it is essentially a subsidised and purpose built PC. The benefit being that the steam deck is an open platform, that allows you to install games from other stores with some workarounds.

And that's kind of where the hidden cost of the PS5 is. Very rarely do you see the same discounts on Sony's closed store for games.

If the AI doesn't hallucinate incorrect information, I totally agree.

One size fits all classroom learning leaves many students behind, and having a personal AI tutor could really help kids fill in the gaps in their understanding that would otherwise be overlooked.

AI hallucinations is still a very real factor that limits the usefulness of this tech right now though. I magine coming into class and your tutor you had yesterday is confidently telling you the opposite of the fact that it taught you yesterday.

I disagree, as a Firefox mobile daily driver I will confirm it has extensions. Dark mode reader and ublock origin, does one need anything else?

I'd love to see it fail completely. I'm hoping that musk makes it a site that you have to pay a subscription to see anything at all on there so everyone can finally give up on it.

Worth it for the campaign alone at 5x that price. I got the game with no expectations years ago and was very impressed.

I think you could happily live your life not knowing who he is. I will say that he's a master at knowing what will make someone click on his videos.

Your country is insane.

In any other democratic nation in the world, a politician saying this would be finished.

I hope for the sake of humanity that all the sane people in the US go out and tells everyone they know that cares about democracy and the rule of law what Trump is planning to do, especially in the swing states.

It's not opt-in as far as I'm aware. Just using Google photos makes it so. I suppose I'm deep enough in the google ecosystem (well, let's say my wife is not going to move away from it) to be desensitised to how messed up it kind of is.

I was more talking about how other people (i.e. your friends) will take photos of you and post it on social media or even just keep them in their google photos, and meta/google will build a shadow profile for you without your consent via facial recognition.

Even if you're not on social media, you'll probably still have a shadow profile on Google/Metas servers. My 13 month old baby has a library of images searchable in Google photos and a profile photo in the app. It's convenient, but incredibly creepy.

Just wondering what a rough split is of people using either Usenet, torrents, or both?

I've only just discovered Usenet and while it is paid, it is very cheap and much more convenient than torrents.

Using torrents as well with the *arr suite set up for my various Linux ISOs.

Don't the fans of X applaud it for being anti-censorship? I would think this goes against their free speech inclinations.

For people interested in tech edutainment he's alright and has mass appeal. My favourite videos have been more of the interesting ones showing how fast his ridiculous fibre connections are in his house.

So much terrible click bait has meant I haven't bothered clicking in a year or so though.

I see it referenced constantly here, not quite as much on Reddit. I know what it means, but just wondering why such the popularity over on this side of the fence?

Very excited (sopuli.xyz)

I really didn't think this was going to happen. Lemmy is missing an app at the level of boost for reddit.

If the UX is close to what BFR was, then this will really help with platform migration.
