You can definitely use the bios to boot into each one as well. I'm not sure why that didn't work for you.

Do a search for bash-it if you haven't found that already. It has a lot of built in easily modifiable themes as well as a bunch of other optional extensions.

Recently there supposedly have been nVidia improvements and success stories. Check the Hyprland wiki to see if it makes sense for you to try. Or is it only the 2000 series and above that have benefitted from Wayland driver improvements?
