Fantastic, this is extremely helpful, thank you! 🥇 I wanted to test a couple of distros for my Thinkpad, and I'll make sure to check and save this kind of information from live USBs.
Thank you, that's useful info, I didn't know about this. Could you be so kind to share some link, or say something more, about lspci and lsmod and how to proceed from them to identifying which drivers one should install? Cheers!
Absolutely agree. Edited the post with a warning.
It should appear if you do a search in your instance about "communities", with this string:
[!typography@lemmy.world](/c/typography@lemmy.world)
The community link should appear, and if you click on it you should be redirected to it through your instance.
PS: give my regards to Merry and Pippin! :)
Indeed, no point in throwing technology at something that has some basic flaws to be fixed first (I expressed something similar here).
Thank you for sharing your experience with it. Good to hear from many people that it was reliable.
Thank you for sharing this! Yesterday I was searching online for Tumbleweed user experiences on Thinkpad, but I only found info about older Thinkpad models. I'll try it from a live disk. I might also switch to Framework later on...
That's also true! Sometimes out of curiosity I might explore with "live cd"s rather than really reinstalling a distro.
Cheers! Good to know for when I also switch to Debian :)
My pleasure!
Cheers! Looks like a great fediverse platform. So sad that the choice of English-speaking servers seems somewhat limited - for now.
