Actually, I used to be a janitor, and you're wrong.

Janitors have free access to the building, including to rooms with sensitive equipment and papers, when no one is around, and have the ability to steal shit, perform industrial espionage, destroy equipment, and otherwise completely fuck over their employers if they so choose. That's why you have to have credit checks, background checks and sometimes even security clearances before you can get a lot of janitorial jobs.

Plus if the janitor doesn't do their job and leaves the place a mess, the salesperson can't invite the client in and make that sale. They could go out to a restaurant, but that further drives up costs.

So it's not in actual fact that simple.

Ultimately, it's a good thing, because it's making people leave that cesspool and actually go to other websites.

Sounds like you need to get the last word to win something, and you'll prove that you need the last word by running your mouth again. Here, go ahead:

It's reductive because it's not meant to convince you. It's simply what is. You asked me why I thought it is moral and those are my reasons why, and they're gonna stay that way whether you like it or not. They don't have to be reasonable or sensible or in line with your worldview. You don't have to agree with them. They don't even have to make sense to you. They're MY reasons, and they are valid simply because I hold them, because I say they are, because I decide what's ethical to me and what's not. That's all.

And you have to put up with that whether you want to or not.

It's not as uncommon as you think it is. There are a whole contingent of mofos who want the voting age lowered to 16, mostly millennials who realized the system was bullshit at a young age. I'm kind of on the fence about it.

I'm sure some creeps would co-opt it for their own evil purposes, though, though I don't think that's a reason not to do it.

Then we'll just have to build and migrate to alternatives, which is preferable anyway. That's how the internet was supposed to be.

Gain wealth and use that wealth to build a chip factory. If Intel can do it in Phoenix, so can we.

How could they possibly sue moderators? They're all anonymous

🤦 I keep forgetting no one cares anymore and the U.S. is split up into factions. All the more reason for the left to arm themselves, I guess.

But it is about being intelligent, because people who use those terms are using them in earnest, you just accuse them of trying to sound smart because you want to silence them and make them feel bad for challenging or correcting you, and it works.

People like you destroy intellectual curiosity by doing that all the time, and not just to me. I've had to fight to regain what little I was able to, because of people like you. Anti-intellectualism is NOT okay. It is very much its own kind of bigotry, and extremely dangerous.

Society absolutely does tell people not to be smart and it does so largely through people like you. The only way nerdy people are fun to be around to you is when they don't show it, or only enough to benefit you and certainly never to expose the fact that you don't know what you're talking about.

And I'm tired of it. I'm tired of having to walk on eggshells around people like you, shut the fuck up and deal with it when you're told with evidence you're wrong.

Everybody in America does labor under the threat of a whip unless they're an unemployed adult hanging out in the boonies somewhere.
