My current desktop is xmonad + xfce in no-desktop mode. Almost no configuration in xmonad, all the stuff like monitor layout and mouse props is handled by xfce. And yes my laptop that I used it on for 6-7 years is now broken (ish) so I've already unlocked this acheivement.

I do feel slightly guilty about not moving to wayland, but I'm not sure how that would improve my experience at all. I did hear xfce is almost there on wayland, so maybe I can move to sway + xfce on wayland at some point.

a tesla that goes up in flames is a tesla that won't contribute revenue to Elon in the future.

Playing music. Sure some people can collect guitars or whatever, but really that's a separate hobby from actually playing.

No more tricky than windows these days. Nice thing is there's a lack of commercial BS - spyware, ads, unwanted apps etc. And pretty much no matter how old your computer gets, you can still run brand new linux on it.

BeOS went under.

Ed: I was a huge apple fan, bought an apple clone from Power Computing. Then Apple revoked the licensing that allowed all the apple clone companies to exist. That's when I went to BeOS which would run on my clone, and got a multicore intel machine too. When BeOS went under I tried Suse. Had kind of a sucky UI in my opinion, but I hung in there with linux as an alternative to windows and went Ubuntu/Debian/Arch/Nixos and I'm still on nixos now. Its pretty much my exclusive OS since I quit my job that required windows 5 or 6 years ago.

I might consider one used, for 1/3 or less the price of new. But would be holding my nose for sure. And not enthused about driving a phone with wheels, but there's hardly an EV out there that isn't.

Is 2002 recent? Still loving my vintage wrx.

When the wheels fall off I'd like to go with something electric, but those tend to be phones with wheels. Maybe a used volt?

No but had eggplants explode, and instantly sear onto the entire inside of the oven. Even kicked the door open a little.
