@Tutanota@mastodon.social Unfortunately there will almost certainly always be backdoors as long as they are an effective eavesdropping method, whether or not the government publicizes them. End to end encryption is necessary but not sufficient, as most devices like smartphones which implement them are too easy to compromise. Even heads of state have their traffic snooped.
