It is complicated. He says true. And maybe your need to use GrapheneOS is relevant. If you have a smartphone without cellular connection, for a daily usage, FMPOV it is a non-sense in case of emergency. It is a risk you will have to take, I can’t disagree your dad. And what about your solution but with a SIM card with very few data and SMS available, through a SIM card you can keep aside your phone and insert when needed?

I do not know if the solutions I listed below are open source ; however as an open source contributor I am used to work with some tools depending to choice of the projects:

About credits, I don’t think these tools exposes in some automated way the contributors identities. However, nothing prevents you to use these web UI tools to find who contributed and list people for example in your CONTRIBUTORS files. Another way could be to edit the automated commits these tools submit to your Git repos by adding credits to the translators (with for example Co-authored-by field).

Enshitification made third-party apps disappeared. Prefer true open source project instead like Pixelfed for example.

It seems yet Bluesky has an Android app according to their GitHub repository (https://github.com/bluesky-social/social-app). However indeed nothing mentioned about F-Droid ; maybe some alternative Mastodon clients can also deal with Bluesky?

Quite strange, I have my last publications posted here downvoted without any comment, and I don’t know why. This is kind of unfair because FMPOV it is just hyperlinks maybe interesting or useful, at least for me and other people I know. But it’s the life, it’s social networks, it’s people and I don’t care that much ✌️ Please, leave comments instead ✌️

Just wanted to share here this blog publication about open source project’s maintaining and toxic or boring behaviours of people looking for support.

If it is your project, no need to get headaches about this. However keep for example the stuff like “Copyright YEAR - your-name” and say it’s under GPL 3 license. But nothing more.

[-] pylapp@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

It is kind of copyfarleft, so by essence it is it open source according to the OSI definition (which must by the only definition to use), more free / libre according to the FSF definition (which is the only definition also to keep).

The target of Orange Confort+ functionalities is to enhance user experience on web sites, which are already accessible, or still accessible.

Orange Confort+ provides these services : Typography - user may change: font size, space between words, characters and lines, font-face to Open Dislexic

Layout: cancel layout, text align left, numbering list items, modify navigation links appereance, disply a reading ruler

Colors : Modify foreground/background colors Behavior: direct access to main content on page load, automatic selection of page clickable elements with a user defined delay, page scrolling on simple user on hover.

Be careful, Orange Confort+ does not improve the accessibility level of a web site: blocking points still stay blocking points, with or without Orange Confort+.

And it’s open source under GPL 2.0 !
