This isn't a supercut, this is some guy talking over a supercut. Pfft.

I gotta ask, are you incapable of reading or are you unwilling to read?

You've missed an option here which is the option I noted: I didn't understand CarmineCatboy2's question.

which was posted before CarmineCatboy2 asked you to comment on those NYT articles

CarmineCatboy2 didn't ask me to comment on those NYT articles, they mentioned "new york crimes" which only now that I've read your comment do I realise is a play on the name "New York Times".

you're here acting as though this didn't happen

I'm not acting. I didn't understand what CarmineCatboy2 was going on about and I said as much. If I might be so bold as to offer some unsolicited advice: maybe in future just assume that when someone says they don't understand what another is saying, they're doing so because they don't understand what the other is saying.

Were you surprised to discover that the new york crimes echoes the same ecofascist genocidal sentiments that we see on reddit?

I'll rephrase this question in order to favour clear communication:

Were you surprised to discover that the New York Times echoed the same ecofascist genocidal sentiments that we see on Reddit?

I made no such discovery, I didn't look at the New York Times articles that were linked to. Had I discovered that, I would not be surprised.

Why are you concerned others are concerned?

I would say I was curious, not concerned.

You like the idea of fascists hyping each other up in a 500k subscriber echochamber, is that your thing?

No. I'd love it if people were reasonable and rational and didn't fall into tribal ideological traps like fascism or communism or religion but that's not the world we live in.

Banking apps run in Android emulation layers on GNU/Linux. Your bank doesn't need to support Linux phones.

[-] rah@feddit.uk 2 points 8 months ago

An Android phone isn't what's referred to when people say "Linux phone". What they're referring to is a phone running GNU/Linux, typically running one of the GNU/Linux phone shells/desktop environments.

Haha! You believe in morality!

The OP presumably ...

We don't need to presume anything, OP can speak for themselves.

What do you mean by this?

heat loss through the head being debunked

Well, I find putting a hat on anywhere makes me warmer. YMMV I guess :-)

I have a spare room in my house sat idle 80% of the time. I could easily install a few racks of servers in there and have some gigaflops of computing power to contribute.

But actually, being "idle" isn't the same thing as "spare" because it would cost a lot of money to install racks of servers, just as it costs money to run computations on an otherwise idle computer.

So I mean no, but no. It's only spare capacity in a stupid, convoluted way that's disconnected from common sense and common usage of the word.

But you managed to brag about having hundreds of gigaflops of taxpayer-funded computing at your fingertips so good for you, you go for that validation from strangers on the Internet.
