I mean, that's my plan.
Oh, look, it's my surprised face again:
😐
I strongly prefer there to be a port. I mostly use Bluetooth headsets, but sometimes your battery runs out, or you really want to use your super nice plug-in noise canceling headphones. It's better to have the option.
While I 100% agree with your sentiment, one-word replies are, like, super dickish.
To which I imagine, if you reply at all, you'll reply with a single word. So here, let me laugh at your wit:
Ha. Ha. Haaaa.
I was just thinking of doing a fresh install on my gaming rig. I might give this a try. I've been wanting to dig into Universal Blue for a while and this seems like a good place to start!
Honestly I promise you're better off using a better organization system than dump it on the desktop... But I can totally solve that problem for you!
It's a little tough to explain, but what you're looking for is a different Desktop Environment. Fedora Workstation uses Gnome, which doesn't do desktop icons by default. I love it, but it's not for everyone.
Fortunately, this is Linux so you have a choice!
If you want to stick with Fedora, use the KDE or Cinnamon spin. Check the Fedora Spins page:
https://fedoraproject.org/spins/
KDE is super customizable and modern, with lots of fun stuff you can do with the desktop, while Cinnamon is a bit less flexible but more familiar for folks coming from Windows. Either way, you can clutter up your desktop to your heart's content 😁.
Either way, it's still Fedora underneath.
If you really want to try something not Fedora, then you could go Linux Mint if you like the way Cinnamon looks; they invented that Desktop Environment, and make what might be the most beginner friendly Linux Distro:
If you'd rather KDE and want something. other than Fedora, then I can suggest KDE Neon. It's actually handled by the KDE project itself:
Hope that helps, and if you have any more questions, I'll help if I can.
You don't seem to know what "lesser of two evils" means.
It doesn't mean "that guy's bad, so the less evil guy is good, actually, and totally deserves our support!"
It means "no matter which one of these assholes wins, I'm fucked, but if I'm lucky the one guy will use lube."
I can't do a damn thing about the two party system. That ship sailed before I was born, and nothing I do as an individual can change it. In fact, I can't see a solution short of possibly violent revolution. If that happens before I'm to old and feeble to help, great. Other wise, I'm fucked no matter who I pick, so I'm sure as shit going to pick the one who just wants to fuck me and not fuck me plus kill my trans neighbor.
I'm sick and tired of being called stupid, gullible, or uninformed just because I can actually see how completely fucked we are. Your shit is great for people who still have hope. My shit is just trying to survive without the Gestapo coming for my neighbors.
So come get me for the revolution. In the meantime, stop calling me stupid for being depressed and practical.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to copy and paste this in reply to some other lemming that thinks I'm a gullible moron instead.
Having to unlock your phone and open the app each time is too much hassle.
And having to use two USB keys and double code scanning isn't? I'm glad your system works for you, but it sounds like a pain in the but to me lol.
This is horrifying of course, but I feel like coming out of a German politician in particular it's a bit of a red flag.
I'm going to recommend Fedora Workstation. The Gnome desktop is fantastic on a laptop with a touchpad, Fedora is very up to date without being unstable, and between Flatpak, the Fedora repos, and Copr, you're probably going to find everything you need.
I am a hardcore, steadfast Gnomie, and I have been since Gnome-Shell 3.
That said... I might have to give this a shot. I gotta say, Plasma 6 is looking nice. I still probably won't become a KDE fan, but it's fun to dive in and play around d with every major update.
