Yes, I learned English here in Austria and I remember classmates asking the teacher how to say "vorgestern" and "übermorgen" in English.

We didn't learn the words "ereyesterday" and "overmorrow" that day, only "the day before yesterday" and "the day after tomorrow". :(

and require two-thirds of the Supreme Court and federal circuit courts of appeals to overturn any law passed by Congress

Netanyahu would be proud.

Was Ron Wyden not usually one of the few forces for good in relation to internet bills, like SOPA and such? Now he's proposing something like this.

The other things mentioned in the article are unobjectionable, some of them even good, but this?!

no, it's a feature, not a bug, that we can have more than one community for discussing the same topic here; makes it harder to censor

Nick Fuentes was born in 1998, so it's been a few years since he was 18.

Also relevant: teenage me thought the future would be awesome because people like me would be in power. Nick Fuentes is several years younger than me, I would classify him as having more power than me nowadays (after all, journalists report on his opinions about things; journalists do not report on mine), so we can tell that my prediction was very wrong.

Why would someone aged 10 or 11 ever think, even for one moment, that anti-aging products (any, whatsoever, at all!) are something they might need?!

"kids shouldn't be on the Internet" "we need to regulate social media" "we need to ban the sale of this or that to young people" blahblahblah - no, we apparently need to teach kids basic common sense, such as that if you aren't even fully grown yet, you definitely do not need anti-aging products

incredible that this thing that in my childhood didn't even exist yet and in my teen years was a fairly revolutionary and subversive idea has turned into an actual industry trying to influence elections

Could Bluesky not just implement ActivityPub too? Is there a reason why they are not doing that?

I think the history is such that a "PC" is a computer compatible with the "IBM PC" which Macs were historically not and modern ones aren't either.

But I still like "Windows computer", we can abbreviate that to "WC".

Point taken. The point was mainly that the escalations (to which Israel responds with airstrikes or invasions) happen every few years. Most of the time, people in other parts of the world don't really hear about what's going on there in the media. The times when we do are probably because such an escalation happens (e.g. now).

Your links don't work for me by the way, I can see in the source code what you meant to link to, but they don't display as links for me.

GamerGate destroyed my confidence that the mainstream media tended to get things right and pick the right side. That doesn't mean it is always wrong, but it is not always right either.
