I ran into this today using ssh-copy-id on a new Debian box. Seems like that tool is biased toward copying a second key instead of a first. Either that or they assume most users use one key pair everywhere (and thus only have one loaded in their agent). I use one key pair per user per box. Excessive? ๐ค
I agree that this is a really important job. The wife and I usually enable subtitles on English content (our first language) any time accents are involved. Watched Shakespeare & Hathaway on BritBox recently and the English subs were glorious. They used a different background color for each character which I found extremely helpful, and the accuracy was quite good.
Sadly this is not universally true for Britbox content. Hartnell-era Doctor Who seems to be based on the scripts as it occasionally deviates significantly from the lines as delivered.
Father Brown is sort of middling and appears to be auto-generated in that the subs are mostly right but any errors are obviously homophonic and would have been caught with human review.
I guess "abide" (to bear patiently) and "endure" (to remain firm under suffering or misfortune without yielding) would both work, though neither has an inherent notion of time.
Patience. I think I just no longer have the energy to get that uptight about things. Benefits of being a quinquagenarian, it would seem. It should come with some damn benefits other than back and joint pain.
Breakfast bars. They're not just for breakfast!
I'm also partial to chips & salsa.
Margot was so awesome. Really loved that show.
Edit: Well, I loved the first three seasons, anyway. ๐
Active noise cancellation. It's a bit like magic. Don't be a wanker and say "Um actually, all you have to do is emit an inverse waveform." I think it took a hell of a lot of work to get this right, especially integrating it into relatively inexpensive consumer devices. Thanks, scientists and engineers. Well done.
TFW you spend the R&D money on hitmen
Three more women for a total of five, the way I read it. Original allegations arrived last month.
I can remember around 1999-2000 if you clicked the wrong thing in IE you'd get 50 popup windows with ads for porn. At least that's behind us.
Biden's original pick got jammed up in the Senate and finally withdrew their name from consideration. This wasn't resolved until last September.
