Never in my life hage I known people (in Germany, but probably everywhere) to he happy with politics. I would also argue that for the vast majority (again, here in Germany) life has improved over the past decades.

IMO the reason for right wing surges aren't actual real-world problems or failings of ruling parties (though flawed they are), but the new forms of propaganda and outreach that right wing parties have mastered, and left wing parties have failed at.

Smh. I get wanting to be connected to a VPN, but being locked out of your own local network is just stupid.

Oof that reminds me...

When my partner and I had already been living together for a while, we had one of those "cuddle on the couch and deeptalk" days, when she confided that, while she was not religious in any traditional sense of the word, she felt immensely comforted by the thought of an infinite multiverse existing.
"If there's an infinite amount of parallel worlds, then I choose to believe that even if I die here, life goes on in another world, so in a sense my being and existence do not simply vanish completely. Same for you! And hey, even if we both die, we'll get to continue living together in some version of the infinite multiverse!"

It was clearly a thought that comforted her a lot, and at the same time a rather intimate belief that she chose to share with me. So, like the idiot I am, I stared her in the face blankly and went "There's an infinite amount of numbers between 0 and 1, and none of them are 2".

I really regret that. She let me know later that that one sentence shattered the belief for her. Which is sad, because it's such an innocent thought. There's no religious behaviors or conditions or rituals attached to it, it's just comforting.

Same is true for Windows.

Frankly you cannot get around the command line when developing.

Oh, wow. I am so giving this a try. Huge kudos for checking the zip itself, btw! Thank you :D

Just for clarification though, do I need 12 bytes of the original content or of the compressed (but unencrypted) byte-representation of the zip file?

Edit: Ah, the repo links the paper. Reading now :)

Thanks, but that's the A5x, a newer Android version of the tablet (hard- and software are different)

Fuck Amazon, fuck Alexa.

But that wall clock is glorious. It's a decently look clock, but seeing how much time you have left on multiple timers with a single glance is so incredibly useful. Especially when you're cooking.

I'm currently in the process of migrating away from the shit Alexa ecosystem, but no matter what I end up with, I'll have to find an alternative for this clock

Oops, might have gone a little off topic there.

In no way do I intend to justify or defend the attacker here, but I do feel the need to point out that "anti-islamist activist" is a thin veil for "right-wing nationalist".

Same goes for Pax Europa. They may describe themselves as "informing the public", but they're a a right-wing extremist group who are under observation from the "Bavarian Office for the Protection of the Constitution", which, if you know anything about German politics, could be described as "a little bit blind in the right eye", i.e. it takes quite a bit for them to even start observing threats from the right.

(Only reason I'm adding this as context is because in the comment above, only the heavily euphemised descriptions were cited.)
