  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles - Verdigris - Soap

  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
  • Fragrance: Stirling - Ramblin' Man - EdT

Verdigris is a nice scent for a warm day. Today's our wedding anniversary, so I went with my wife's favorite splash/frag.

After a week of shaves on this razor without stropping, it's still going strong. If anything it's settled into a more comfortable place, though I did slice myself pretty badly on my upper lip (user error). At least I know it's still sharp.

I'll continue to push the edge to see when I can notice it start to drop off.

Good luck with the Monday y'all!

I had the same experience with those silicone dog bowls. Works great if I've already loaded a full brush, but very much sucks to use for samples/smushes.

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Stardust" - TurnNShave 26mm Shoat
  • Razor: J. Koester's Sons 11/16", full hollow, square point (4)
  • Lather: Fanzine Saponifications - Bubblegum Rose - Soap
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Stirling One - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
  • Fragrance: Stirling - Stirling One - EdT

Pretty good shave overall. Two passes plus some clean up on my neck and chin with a DE.

This scent is a nice rose with a hint of sweetness behind it. The base performed great as well, though I do think his final formulation makes a better lather.

September 3rd, 2025

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Stardust" - TurnNShave 26mm Shoat
  • Razor: Koraat Moarteen (15/16", full hollow, square point, r/wetshaving exclusive) (1)
  • Lather: Summer Break Soaps - Steady - Soap
  • Post Shave: Summer Break Soaps - Steady - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
  • Fragrance: Catie’s Bubbles - Crangère - EdP

First shave with a new edge on my Moarteen! It went well enough, though I nicked my chin a couple of times. Slowly but surely the technique is coming along.

This edge definitely feels more keen than the "factory" edge Ulrik put on this razor.

Steady is an awesome scent that plays nicely with Crangère. I'm on the fence whether I'll pick up the frag.

Chicago Grooming Company - Susurro

A dupe of Maison Margiela Replica "Whispers In The Library", scent notes:

Top notes: pink pepper essence, orange flower blossom absolute, patchouli essence
Middle notes: cypriol essence, tonka bean absolute, benzoin siam resinoid
Base notes: vanilla absolute, cedarwood essence, vetiver essence

It's quite nice!

September 2nd, 2025

  • Brush: Summer Break Soaps "Elyria" - TurnNShave v9 Tip 28mm Badger
  • Razor: J. Koester's Sons 11/16", full hollow, square point (1)
  • Lather: Fanzine Saponifications - Caravaggio - Soap
  • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Rambler - Recovery Splash
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
  • Fragrance: Chanel - Égoïste - EdT

This was my first shave with this straight, which I found in Nesika Beach, Oregon at an estate sale for $5 while on my recent bike tour. I just got it back in hand today after sending if off to @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social for honing.

The only other straight razor that I've used is the Moarteen, and this thing is significantly smaller and more nimble. It gave me great results from a three-pass shave, with only one small slice on my jawline from not minding the toe.

Overall I'm happy with the edge and looking forward to spending more time with this razor.
