Love this idea. I think we should also make sure that we are keeping broader fediverse compatibility in mind. Particularly kbin and mastodon.

The way to solve this is still largely through more focus on the provided context as the space of "facts" from which to operate. This combined with well thought out domain-specific context engines should still get the average user an absolutely enormous amount of utility. All that said I am not sure if OpenAI's business model will get us that sort of application of the technology. I am looking forward to improvements in the open source space as I think advancement there is necessary for further development of the technology.

The other really interesting thing is what happens when you get them talking to each other. They show similarly fascinating emergent properties.

I've been told that there is no way to incorporate that into the main feed, unfortunately. However, hashtags tend to be pretty messy so I totally get putting them in their own timelines.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to recommend a VPN or Tor. Should be the same risk profile as torrenting except legal in all places. Also, this information may be out of date, but I believe it is considered poor etiquette to use the Tor network for bandwidth heavy stuff like this. I know they used to put out PSAs about torrenting on the network.

It's an unrelated messenging platform. Not unlike a federated discord but best used for chat right now. VoiP is still an early feature if I understand correctly. Right now matrix is the best alternative to DMs if you'd like to keep your conversations private.
