I think Mashable needs to talk to their own InfoSec team for an education.. Stealing data and ransomware are not the same thing.

Struggling to think of what purpose systemd would serve in docker..

If you're asking why aren't DevOps/SRE mentioned specifically on the OpenTofu front page, I don't think you understand how common this software is.. Like if someone forked Google, you wouldn't need to describe what Google is. Everyone already knows it. For the people in this industry, terraform is essentially a defacto monopoly. Even if you don't use it, if you're working in SRE, you know what it is and what it does.

My dad had this surgery in the late 90s. Hopefully it's better by now because, yeah, yikes is right.

I remember him spraying antiseptic in his mouth for a few weeks after it was over and almost screaming at the pain every time. It must have been a requirement because there's no way anyone would volunteer for that kind of pain.

The real kick in the teeth was that it didn't actually help either.. He still snored like crazy and the restless leg syndrome (although now I think it's called periodic limb movement disorder) was unchanged.

I don’t pirate music ... because there are reasonable platforms and pricing models which make pirating more hassle than it’s worth.

Hopefully Spotify is not the platform you're talking about. I don't use them because they do not pay the artists. Bandcamp is the spot for music.. It's really the only place I get music anymore.

the slippery slope that an age limit would entail.

Can you elaborate?

You can do it bro. Dockerfiles are basically just shell scripts with a few extras.

It uses npm to build so start with a node base container. You can find them on docker hub. Alpine-based images are a good starting point.

FROM appdynamics/nodejs-agent:23.5.0-19-alpine

RUN git clone https://github.com/stophecom/sharrr-svelte.git && \
    cd sharrr-svelt/ && \
    npm run build

If you need to access files from outside of the container, include a VOLUME line. If it needs to be accessible from a specific network port, add an EXPOSE line. Add a CMD line at the end to start whatever command needs to be run to start the process.

Save your Dockerfile and build.

docker build . -t my-sharrr-image

I was a kid when I last had it. Really uneventful. "Count backwards from 10" and you're out by 6.

My wife had it a few months ago to fix a deviated septum. Her native language is Turkish. When she came to she was only speaking English. The doctors couldn't understand her "but she seems fine." I told her she was speaking Chinese just to fuck with her a bit. "Oh no! We need to get a dictionary!" It was really strange.. She understood Turkish perfectly fine but was completely unable to speak it.

Other than some funny after effects, it was mostly a non-issue for her as well. She was fine after a couple hours.

When I die, just stick a ham bone up me ass and let the dogs carry me away.

I worked at CompUSA back in the day. I did the same thing for coworkers. It was breezy 5.10. Crazy yo this it's been nearly 20 years since then.

Real talk? I genuinely don't care. I have actual work that needs to get done. I'm going to use whatever I can to make that faster/easier. Of all the decisions I need to make in a day, this is a pretty inconsequential one.

Over the last couple years, kubernetes. It completely changed the game and the ecosystem growing up around it is both exciting and refreshing compared with the old way of managing servers.
