It's performative. They will.

Stumbled across this the other day. Very interesting and a ton of gestures. Debating using it more. It is very lightweight and no frills appearance wise.

This is actually kind of tame by Kent's standards.

It's a shame honestly. He seems smart but he doesn't seem to realize that the linux kernel is not just for his "customers." It's literally for everyone. He seems to think he can make whatever changes and it'll be fine (perhaps it will be) but doesn't understand that the people using bcachefs are a tiny, tiny, tiny portion of overall Linux users who need stability in the kernel.

That and anyone using bcachefs 1) probably shouldn't be holding so much data on it given how it changes and 2) should be able to build a kernel with the patches if needed because it's experimental and...if you're doing that you should know what you're doing.

What's worse is this was when companies and people were ordering things before tariffs. To shrink while that was going on? Good God he fucked it up in record time.

Why would Anyone do anything productive like that with that many people over a WhatsApp group

Amazing. You read an article about how shitty trump is and you immediately blame Democrats.

Honestly, I am siding with Linus here. Mainline is not the place for last minute changes without testing. And it seems Kent isn't going to change his methods, etc. That and the retort was pretty disrespectful.

I have high hopes bcachefs can be something great but... At its current rate it's going to flame out before reaching its potential.

Almost as if you need to win before you can do anything at all.

Like it or not, the reality of the electoral college.

Nightly mobile URL bar (sh.itjust.works)

Anyone else hate this? I don't want a dumbed down bar. If Im on the homepage, I want to know. Same as if I'm on a subpage.

This is in reference to Mozilla changing the URL to ALWAYS show only the domain. Absolutely terrible IMO. As for the double tall menu now? That is mostly fine.

At least give me an option to see the full url.

Cool. How about a repairable phone with a headphone jack? I'll be a day one buyer.

Unsure if this is the place to ask or not but figured it was closest to it.

Basically I am looking to make an AIO retro gaming PC. Main goal is to have one simple box hooked up to the TV so my friends and I can game without having to swap discs and consoles all the time. Would probably use mostly DS3 (or 4?) controllers hooked up with USB or via BT.

I know lemmy doesn't much care about piracy but this is all just to play games/consoles we legally own. Would include PS1-3, Nintendo, SNES, N64, Gamecube (think that is all we have).

I think https://batocera.org/ has been mentioned, Lakka (maybe this is more for pis?), and EmuDeck has been mentioned. Basically looking for the easiest distro to throw on a PC with a nice UI (can be launched via kb/mouse, all the same to me) that has the emulators built in and just needs the ROMs.

For the hundredth time- it's not on Democrats to unfuck Republicans. If they want to actually be adults they can come to Democrats and offer up their own "olive branch."

Let the fuckers stew in their own shit and maybe some people will finally wake the fuck up that Republicans aren't at all fit to manage a Wendy's, let alone govern the country.

Apple tv sucks anyway. I'd like to remind people that it's near the end of the mls season and they still have no android mobile app. They actively piss on anyone not totally in line with their ecosystem, etc.
