It is more like a plea to decentralize the Monero mining network, no one is making anything off of p2pool, unlike all the other centralized pools that charge a fee and reduce the security of the network.
Unless you are solo mining you should be using p2pool and nothing else.
Have you tried Haveno DEX yet? It is shaping up to be a good private way to move fiat into Monero.

Just like the disease scurvy was just a simple deficiency in vitamin C but the experts were baffled for hundreds of years even though the solution was already known by many people.

It is pretty good, I use it as a side browser if I need to open any google or other spyware sites.
I do not think the dominant "new" media is interested in topics of real freedom and sovereignty. It is just a re-brand of the old media with an edgy twist.
Unfortunately something like Monero will have to rise mostly by word of mouth.
