I think it’s wild how people post “omg I just got this entire series for $299! It was on sale so I had to!” Like in 5 years, you may not even have it! Company goes under. Gets bought out. Or my personal favourite, it becomes unavailable because the owner pulled it over a legal dispute. Like so many songs off Spotify. These companies never get involved like well we got our cash too bad so sad.

I had the entire 4 man crew go on and on about how LaCie La Porsche hard dive enclosures (they were HDDs) were not accessible. They claimed every single one they took apart, was DOA. I was like um neat.

Went home. Pried it apart. Salvaged the completely stock Seagate HDD and tossed the shitty enclosure.

You say the files are legit so reach out and get unblocked. There’s no need to spin it out of control for what seems like a pretty benign false flag.

I’m seeing these quite often with people taking the name of the app as “proof” it’s fine. Even if you got it from a reputable source, you should verify the checksum at the very least. Because if you don’t, thinking this stupid feature is stupid, you may just have malware on your system.
